Nice Verdes, a two-piece act, came together after a chance meeting during a peace march in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003. Merging original compositions with sounds from across the globe, their music is driven by a nomadic heart and a love of exploration.
Bright, infectious, and authentic, their sound carries the essence of the places, people, and landscapes they’ve experienced across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Latin America, and Europe.
Years of touring and immersive musical studies in Cuba, Colombia, West Africa, and India have enriched their artistry, allowing them to weave diverse influences into a unique, organic sound. Nice Verdes are excited to announce their new album, ‘Magic in Minutiae’, being released December 4th 2025. Created and recorded on Vancouver Island, Canada, over the last couple of years, the 12-track album is an expression of original folk with global influences, showcasing the duo’s long-standing partnership and deep musical chemistry.
This new compilation blends acoustic roots with rhythmic energy. Interwoven guitars, accordion, and layered vocal harmonies create rich textures and shifting moods across each track.
The album features guest musicians Bortier Okoe (Ghana, djembe), Michelle Footz (Canada, horns), and Anthony “Bones” Bonito (USA, keys), adding extra depth and character to select tracks.
Each song journeys through diverse modes and moods, forming what Nice Verdes call epic folk — music that is both intimate and expansive. From quiet reflection to vibrant energy, the album showcases the duo’s melodic interplay, distinctive sound, and signature harmonies, creating a richly textured, globally inspired folk experience.
